GOYENCHEM-PBS103 Polybutylene Succinate

GOYENCHEM-PBS103 Polybutylene Succinate, developed by GYC GROUP, features remarkable mechanical properties, processing behavior, formability, which makes it ideal for extrusion molding and injection molding in producing (food) packaging material, diposable packing material, semi-transparent container, cup for cold drinks, etc. GOYENCHEM-PBS103 can as well be used for compounding with biodegradable functional additives to make which into PBS masterbatch.

Description

Intro

The plastic total production in the world has reached over 9 billion tones since the Industrial Revolution. Around 90 kilograms of plastic products are casted away every year, and most of them are non-recyclable and non-biodegradable, resulting around 1800 million tons of wastes flow into the sea, which has lead a great threat to the ocean and land. Plastic pollution, also known as white pollution, has been confirmed by NOAA that more than 600 species in the sea are killed because of the plastic wastes. Environmental protection hence has become market trends and even turned out to be a part of the factors that increase the product value. A huge number of international labels show their initiative on using and developing biodegradable materials or plastics.

Biodegradable plastic, also known as green and sustainable plastic, such as PBS (Polybutylene Succinate) and PBAT (Polybutylene Adipate Terephthalate) are now the biodegradable plastics that have been used commonly. Biodegradable plastic is non-toxic and can be degraded into water and CO2 (or Methane) after being buried in the environment where with light, heat, oxygen, humid, microbes, etc.

PBS (Polybutylene Succinate) is produced by polymerization of succinic acid and butylene glycol. It is shown to have a great impact resistance, tearing strength, ductility and malleability. The heat resistance and processing behavior of PBS are shown to be the greatest among all biodegradable plastics. PBS can be readily decomposed into water and carbon dioxide by microbes or enzyme existing in animals and plants, while it is highly stable when using and storing properly. It is used mostly to produce film, packaging material, bottle for cosmetics or drinks, dispensable medical product, garbage bag, meal box, etc.
