Description
Intro
NBR (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) is commonly used as the main material for protective gloves, fuel oil delivery hoses, conveyor belts, oil resistant washers, gaskets, rubber tubes, printing rubber rollers, cables/wires, etc. NBR has scarce elasticity due to the composition of the cyano group.

PFM (Polymer Functional Modifier) is a toughening agent to increase the functionality of polymers. The agent provides polymers with enhanced impact resistance, compatibility, toughness, elasticity, mechanical strength, tensile strength and prevents embrittlement.
The test is to add GY-PFM toughening agent into the NBR and evaluate the NBR’s hardness, tensile strength, elongation at break, and tear resistance (TR).

Conclusion
The test report indicates that when the GY-PFM toughening agent was added into the NBR-7, following the increased adding rate, the NBR-7 had improved performance on its hardness, tensile strength, elongation, and tear resistance. The most satisfactory enhancement of the physical properties can be found when 15 PHR of GY-PFM was added, where the hardness reached 83.3, tensile strength reached 23.5 Mpa, elongation reached 248%, and tear resistance reached 71.7. The performance of the NBR with GY-PFM toughening agent added was obviously better than the blank one.
