Polyethylene terephthalate, commonly abbreviated PET, belongs to the polyester family and is commonly used in tape, bottle, textile, etc. as PET shows great toughness, light weight, acid/alkali resistance, and is nonvolatile. When PET bottles are recycled, they can be made into other containers or fiber via melt spinning. Environmental issues have become market trends and even turn out to be a part of the factors that increase the product value. Therefore, lots of international major beverage producers and textile brands are now actively using recycled PET to produce products that afterwards are advertised as recycled product or eco-friendly product. For instance, some of the clothes are shown to be “composed of recycled fiber.” Textile industry nowadays got involved with transnational recycling companies in order to seize the future international market.
