Intro
TPU elastomer is an abstraction of Thermoplastic Polyurethane, and TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) is one of the material in TPU. Besides, TPU owns the abilities of high strength , moderate adhesive and good flexibility.
TPU is a kind of straight chain which mainly composed by reacting 100% MDI with Polyol. TPU elastomers are applied on TPU film adhesion, sole, cable & wire, industrial protective film, raincoat, wind coat, sporting goods and various electronic components.
The ingredient of synthetic PU including diisocyanate & Polyol, which can be separated to four type: aliphatic isocyanate, aromatic isocyanate, polyester polyol and polyether polyols. Aromatic isocyanate, take TDI or MDI for example, which can generate PU and TPU, PU and TPU will bring out quinone type yellow substance caused by photolysis. Furthermore, there are ageing, deterioration, discoloration, degradation phenomenon generated from TPU resin.
